PARKER HOLLOWAY, M.S.
Parker Holloway is a Rostered Psychotherapist in the State of Vermont. Parker earned his Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Vermont. While Parker worked towards his degrees he worked in the Center for Health of Wellbeing at UVM, supporting the center’s efforts to provide mental health education, outreach and programming to its student population. Most recently, Parker worked as a clinical intern at Saint Michael’s College in their Bergeron Wellness Center.
Parker has a wealth of experience working with traditional college aged folk, but enjoys working with all age groups. He approaches each client and family with warmth, openness, compassion and flexibility – noting the therapeutic relationship as the cornerstone of his work.
Parker specializes in Internal Family Systems informed and Emotion Focused modalities. He doubles as a yoga & meditation teacher and often utilizes mindfulness, meditation, and somatic techniques in session – believing deeply that so much of what we feel, have been through, and are facing is stored in our body. He also believes that healing can take place and sees his role as a facilitator toward healing, helping folks understand more about each part of themselves, their emotional system, and the way it all manifests in their bodies.
Additionally, Parker appreciates that all our identities and their intersections inform so much of how we walk through the world. He aims to create an inclusive and accessible therapeutic setting for folks of all backgrounds, and tend to those at the margins. He brings social justice advocacy into the work he does, and values collective liberation.
With that, Parker believes that this work is done best on a team – while he sees individuals, couples, and family on his own, he also collaborates and consults with the other members of the Adams Center as much as possible to help facilitate the best care to every client.
