GINA PLASSE, L.C.M.H.C.
Gina Plasse is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Vermont in 2002 and her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Vermont in 2007. Since earning her Master’s degree, she has been providing community-based Early Childhood Mental Health services and support to a diverse group of children and families in homes, child cares and schools. This work included parent-child treatment, parenting support and education, individual work with children, and ongoing collaboration with other serviccs providers in order to provide thc best possible care to her clients.
Gina has received extensive training on providing trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practices and strives to practice cultural humility in her work with clients. She enjoys and is open to working with clients of all backgrounds, cultures, races, sexual orientations and gender identities.
Gina integrates Attachment, Eco-Systcmic and Family Systems Theories as well as her understanding of larger socio-cultural factors to develop a deep understanding of her client’s experiences. She is trained in the Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competencies (ARC) Framework and the Neuro-sequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) which are both traumainformed frameworks. She is also trained in and has experience using Play Therapy. She is particularly interested in how early experiences impact the development of relationships to oneself and others. She works with children, adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of issues to: help them increase insight about how their experiences within their family of origin and larger culture affect them today, develop healthier ways of coping and improve their overall mental health.
